Newsura was started up by Terry Borchers, a veteran insurance executive, at his dining room table in Roseville, California on April 1, 2004
Newsura began its life as a “plain vanilla” insurance agent/broker, flush with creative DNA.
Our name, Newsura®, taken from our tag line…New Ideas from the World of Insurance…captures our “outside-of-the-box” approach to thinking and doing.
Our mission then, and every day since, has been nothing less than re-inventing a significant slice of the $1.2 trillion insurance industry which was “birthed” at Edward Lloyd’s coffee House in London, England in 1688.
When we say “re-inventing the insurance industry” we primarily mean simplifying it, from the way that risk is identified, analyzed, diagnosed, communicated and addressed to the way insurance products and related services are designed, constructed, delivered and serviced, all with the aim of minimizing the total cost of risk.
Over the last twelve years, we’ve worked with hundreds of businesses, professional practices and organizations, testing and refining our “outside-of-the-box” ideas on our clients as we managed their insurance portfolios.
